A bomb exploded early Friday on Zagazig-Mansoura railway, leaving a line break and a crater adjacent to Haryet Razana village of Sharqiya governorate.
Receiving a call of a bombing sound, civil protection authorities rushed to the scene to find a 40-centimeter break and a 30-cm-deep hole.
A combing operation that followed the incident found no other explosive items in the area.
The bombing, which came in the early hours of Friday, did not affect train movement as trips are already halted at this time every day.
