The Armed Forces have foiled an attack by Takfiris on a military checkpoint in Rafah in North Sinai.
Four Takfiri assailants were killed, the Armed Forces said in a statement on Friday.
The Armed Forces opened fire at the Takfiri elements as they attempted to sneak into the checkpoint to plant explosive devices.
Machine guns, an explosive belt and an apparatus for detonating explosive devices were found in the checkpoint's vicinity.
A small bomb was defused, the statement said, noting that the armed forces continued combing the area.
The forces are still tightening security measures against terrorists, the statement said.
