As many as 26 Takfiri elements were killed in security campaign launched by army and security forces to destroy terrorist hotbeds in Arish, Sheikh Zuweid, Rafah and some areas in central Sinai, Egypt's Armed Forces said in a statement on Sunday.
This comes as part of the "Right of Martyr" operation in Sinai to wipe out terrorism from the Sinai peninsula, the statement added.
The campaign also resulted in arresting five other suspects, demolishing a pick up truck and four motorcycles used by those terror elements to target security and army checkpoints, according to the statement.
About 18 explosive devices were also defused, two explosive materials depots were seized during the clampdown, the statement said.
Also, three automatic rifles, a sniper rifle, field glasses, 7 bags of highly-explosive "TNT " and 63 rounds of various types were seized in the campaign, the statement read.
Armed Forces continued ramping up its military operation against terror elements and taking further security measures to secure all vital institutions and public and private property in areas of Arish, Sheikh Zuweid, Rafah and roads leading to them, the statement said.
