December's Davis Cup final between Spain and Argentina will be held in Seville, the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) announced on Wednesday. "As their bid was the only one that fulfilled all of our requirements, we will propose to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) that Seville should host the final," read a statement on the RFET's website. Malaga, Madrid and Valencia had also declared an interest in staging the final, although the former two had already pulled out of the running, leaving Valencia as the only rival to Seville. The venue for the December 2-4 match-up will be the 25,000-seat La Cartuja Stadium. It will be the second time that the Davis Cup final has been staged in the city after Spain hosted, and beat, the United States in the 2004 showpiece. Spain and Argentina will meet in the final for the second time after defeating France and last year's winners Serbia respectively in the semi-finals. In 2008, Spain won the trophy in Argentina, defeating their hosts 3-1 in Mar del Plata.
