Supreme Council Member and The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, His Highness Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, unveiled a new logo of the Emirates Cultural and Sports Club (ECSC) on Monday late evening. The new logo for the club marked the beginning of a new era for two clubs – Emirates Sports Club and Ras Al Khaimah Club – who merged to form the Emirates Cultural and Sports Club. The new logo also signified the club’s switch to international status after the merger of the clubs. The new identity of the club was unveiled in the presence of club officials, dignitaries and UAE Football Association members at a function held at the Al Hamra Hotel and Beach Resort Convention Centre. The logo, designed by Asian Sports Marketing, is in the form of a simple, friendly and timeless shield and contains seven stripes depicting the seven emirates and a Falcon head chose to represent speed, agility, energy, power, and tradition. It might be recalled that Emirates club earned a promotion to the UFL senior league for the 2011-12 season after they were relegated last year to the second division. The function started with the UAE National anthem, followed by a brief video clipping of the club’s activities and success on the field. Emirates did reasonably well in the Asian Football Confederation Champions League this season, winning two matches in Group D comprising Iran’s Zobahan, Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia and Qatar’s Al Rayyan. They finished third in the group and scored six goals in their six matches. Addressing the gathering the President of ECSC, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, said that the new logo signifies the company’s vision for the future. The aim is to establish an international football club with broad perspectives. This has become possible by the merger between the clubs which has an impressive presence among the emirates. “The integration of Emirates Club and Ras Al Khaimah clubs is an exciting and positive step towards the creation of a sport entity, which is capable of not only enhancing Ras Al Khaimah’s performance on the field, but also encouraging the development of sport in general within the emirate,” Sheikh Ahmed wrote in the brochure released on the occasion. Mohamed Ghobash, the Vice President of ECSC, added that the club further will have a professional way of operation so as to strengthen its international presence. The logo comes as a symbol of this turning point in the company’s profile. Chucri Risk, the head of Asia Sports Marketing, said that they will devise strategic brand building campaigns to take the club to an envious next level. Sheikh Saud presented images of the new logo to officials, including Abdul Ghaffar Hussein, Vice-President of UAE Football Association.
