The French centre-back has been out of action since April but is set to return to competitive football this Saturday to help his new club recover from their poor start.AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes is bracing himself for his Serie A debut for the defending Italian champions this weekend. The 29-year-old has spent the last six months recuperating from a knee ligament injury he suffered while at Roma last season, but played a training match against Milan’s Primavera side on Monday without suffering any problems.Mexes is now hopeful of making his first senior appearance for his new club since joining them on a free transfer during the summer transfer window against Palermo at home."I'm 100 per cent and I will be at San Siro to play against Palermo,'' the France international centre-back told La Corriere dello Sport."It has been a difficult time but I'm sure we will pick ourselves up.”Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan have endured a slow start to the 2011-12 Serie A campaign and are currently sitting in 15th place in the table with five points from as many matches.
