Visiting Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek said Egypt is an important partner for his country in the Middle East region, noting that he is appreciating its role in the war against terrorism.
Speaking at a reception held at the Czech Embassy here late Sunday, Zaoralek asserted the importance of cooperation between his country and Egypt to change for the better the Middle East position.
He also voiced happiness over ending the interim political phase in Egypt, the approval of constitution and the holding of the presidential and parliamentary elections, noting that Prague is ready to offer its expertise to Egypt in view of the political hardship it had faced 25 years ago.
Cooperation between Egypt and Czech has steadily been growing in the political, economic and cultural fields, said the Czech top diplomat, adding that several Czech companies are working in Egypt in the field of automobile manufacturing and light industries.
The reception was attended by a galaxy of diplomats, members of the House of Representatives and businessmen.
Minister of Military Production General Mohammad el Assar said he held talks with the Czech foreign minister on bolstering cooperation between the two countries in the field of military production and defensive industries, noting that the Egyptian army had signed its first agreement with Czech Republic in 1955 to import defense equipment, a matter which helped making a shift in the strategic relationship between the two countries.
