Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil el Araby on Tuesday asserted the pan-Arab body's support for the development and stability of Sudan.
In a press release, he explained that his meeting with leader of the Sudanese Ummah Party al Sadeq al Mahdy has been held at the request of the Sudanese activist and within an informal framework.
Araby expounded that Mahdy is an old acquaintance at the personal level.
The AL chief added that he listened during the meeting to the viewpoint of the Ummah Party regarding the recent developments in Sudan.
Araby further noted that the AL is supporting dialogue among all Sudanese political parties, reminding that the AL had welcomed an invitation by Sudanese President Omar Bashir on this score.
