Norway's Mads Ostberg, driving a Ford Fiesta, is out of the Rally of Mexico after he suffered electrical progblems during Saturday's 14th special stage. Ostberg had been in provisional second place, 40sec behind leader Sebastien Ogier, after winning four stages but his team said he had to quit during the 30km 14th stage after suffering a broken clutch cylinder. Finland's Mikko Hirvonen moved up to provisional second in his Citroen DS3 with more than a 1min deficit on Frenchman Ogier. Overnight, Ogier had led Ostberg by 29.49sec with Hirvonen at 37.3sec.
