Germany's Carina Vogt made ski jumping history on Friday as she won gold at the Nordic skiing world championships in Falun, Sweden.
Vogt became the first woman to win Olympic gold and a world title in the sport as she finished ahead of Japan's Yuki Ito and Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, the World Cup leader.
With 236.9 points, Vogt pipped Ito, who finished with 235.1 points, with Iraschko-Stolz on 233.8.
Japan's teenage sensation Sara Takanashi, who has dominated the World Cup in recent times, could only finish fourth, just as she did at the Olympic Games a year ago.
