Novak Djokovic just edged his German opponent Mischa Zverev, beating him 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 in the match they played Friday in the Shanghai Rolex Masters.
World No.1 Djokovic reached the semi-final despite struggling in the first set as Zverev produced a dominant display. However the latter could not keep the same level of intensity and lost the second set 6-7 before succumbing in the third set and losing 3-6.
This is the seventh time that Djokovic reached the semi-final of the Shanghai Rolex Masters out of seven, a perfect record. His record at the competition now stands at 21-1, his only loss was against tennis legend Roger Federer in the semi-final two years ago.
