Malaga midfielder Jeremy Toulalan has successfully undergone an operation on his foot injury, the Primera Division club have announced. The France international, who has missed the last two league matches against Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano after suffering a stress fracture to the fifth metatarsal of his left foot, went under the knife in his home town of Nantes this morning. Malaga have not announced when the 28-year-old is expected to be back in action but, with just nine rounds of the Primera Division season left, the Andalusian side will be planning for life without the former Lyon man. A Malaga statement read: "The midfielder, whose left foot has been immobilised, will remain resting in his home town and will return to Malaga to continue his recovery in the middle of April." Toulalan has made 28 starts for big-spending Malaga this season following his summer switch from Lyon, helping the club climb up to fourth spot in the standings, level on 47 points with third-placed Valencia.
