The pair came to blows in training ahead of Sunday's Super Lig clash with Manisaspor, and coach Fatih Terim has now promised that they will be punished for their misconduct.Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim has announced that Felipe Melo and Albert Riera have been omitted from the matchday squad to face Manisaspor on Sunday and will be fined in due course, following their altercation at the club's training ground. The Istanbul giants stated on Thursday that an incident had occurred between the two players and had vowed to discipline the duo accordingly. Now, in a statement released by the former Turkey boss, the two players will not feature at the weekend and will face financial sanctions."To prevent any further misinformation from being reported, Melo punched Riera and as a result, Riera's eyebrow split open. That is all," said Terim."In order to stop the speculation, I'm bringing clarity to the situation. Both players will be fined. The club has a code of conduct and there has been a physical altercation, so they will not be taken to our next match against Manisaspor."Whether or not they'll carry on with us for our title bid, we'll make a decision soon. I could have come out with both players and tried to make peace between them, but there's no point in handshakes or attempting to cover up the incident.Terim also hinted that the incident may have swayed Gala's decision to keep Melo on a permanent basis. The Brazilian is currently on a season-long loan from Juventus and had been one of the side's star performers."We have already had discussions with Juventus. We were wise to take him on loan, but this club has its own values, and these events cannot go unpunished," he continued."We'll make the final decision prior to the last Super Lig match of the season."
