Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has been voted Poland's player of the year, beating team-mate Lukasz Piszczek and Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny to the title. The 23-year-old won the award after a poll by Polish sports magazine Pilka Nozna. "I had been voted 'Discovery Of The Year' in the past, now I'm player of the year," said Lewandowski, who has scored ten league goals for defending German league champions Dortmund this season. "I'm very happy, because it proves that I've developed. Such an award is very important, because it also shows that all the hard work has paid off. I think I deserve it." Lewandowski has said his aim now is to play well for both club and country, with Poland set to co-host UEFA EURO 2012 next June when the striker aims to add to his 39 caps and 13 goals.
