Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa says he is fit and ready to face North East rivals Sunderland on Sunday. It has been a stop-start return from injury for Ben Arfa who came on in Thursday’s 1-1 home draw against Benfica in the Europa League. The 26-year old has struggled to maintain consistent playing time this season battling against niggling injuries. However, Ben Arfa has declared himself ready for the vital Premier League encounter with Paulo Di Canio's men. Ben Arfa told nufcTV: "I think I'm okay for the rest of the season now, and I'm very happy to play. I want it [the game against Sunderland] to be now. Sunday is going to be a great game, and we hope we win for all the supporters and for us. We know it is very important for everyone in Newcastle to win this game."
