Russia's Yuliya Zaripova changed her silver medal in Berlin World Championships to a gold here on Tuesday in the women's 3,000m steeplechase with a personal best of nine minutes and 7.03 seconds. Tunisia's Habiba Ghribi, 27, finished on the distent second with a national record of 9:11.97. The top favorite Milcah Chemos Cheywa failed to be the first Kenyan winner of the title after clocking 9:17.16 to finish third. The African and Commonwealth champion had completely dominated this year and boasted a 100 percent record in the 3,000m Steeplechase before the defeat tonight in Daegu. The 25-year-olds had previously looked imperious over the barriers this season, winning five Diamond League meets in Doha, Rome, New York, Lausanne and London as well as snaring her national title.
