Leg-spinner Yasir Shah regained full fitness as Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat in the second Test against England in Dubai on Thursday.
Back spasms forced Shah to miss the first of three Tests which ended in a draw in Abu Dhabi last week.
Shah replaced paceman Rahat Ali, the only change to the side, while the England team remained unchanged from the first game.
The third and final Test will be played in Sharjah from November 1.
