European Champion Olha Saladuha from Ukraine took her first world title here on Thursday after going to 14.94 meters in her first attempt in the women's triple jump final. Kazakh jumper Olga Rypakova, the world indoor champion last year, took the silver medal with 14.89m. Caterine Ibarguen, a joint leader of the world listing this year, delivered the first-ever medal for Colombia in a World Championships, winning the bronze medal with a 14.84m jump in her fifth attempt. The 5742-point heptathlete, also became the first medalist from South America in the event. Cuba's Yargeris Savigne, seeking her third title in Daegu, pulled out of the final due to injury after three attempts.
