Sergio Garcia, despite a bogey on a par 5, had an 8-under-par 63 Friday in taking the lead at the European Tour's Castello Masters in Spain. Garcia, playing the Club de Campo del Mediterraneo course where he was the club champion at age 12, had an eagle, seven birdies and one bogey for a second-round 63. He is at 12-under 130 for the tournament, tying the event's 36-hole record set two years ago. Alexander Noren had eight birdies in matching Garcia's 63 and is in second place at 10-under 132 First-round leader Ross McGowan had a pair of early bogeys and shot 1-under 70 for a 36-hole total of 8-under 134. He is tied with Marcus Fraser (64) and Gary Orr (67) for third. Noren had four birdies on each nine, starting with back-to-back birdies at Nos. 10 and 11. His final two came at 7 and 8. Garcia had a first-hole birdie but carded his bogey at the par-5 fifth. He answered with a birdie at the sixth hole and closed his front nine with an eagle at the par-5 eighth and a birdie at No. 9. He had four birdies on the second nine.
