Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has been fined 8,000 UK pound sterling after accepting a Football Association misconduct charge, the association announced Monday.
Hughes was sent to the stands during the first half of Stoke's 4-0 Premier League defeat by Tottenham Hotspur at the Britannia Stadium on September 10. The Welshman reacted angrily to two decisions he felt went against the home side -- a booking for Marko Arnautovic and what he thought was a foul on Jon Walters.
Hughes vented his anger on fourth official Jon Moss but said afterwards he was disappointed by his reaction. AFP reported today that a statement from the FA read: "The Stoke City manager admitted that his behavior in or around the 34th minute of the game against Tottenham Hotspur on September 10, 2016 amounted to improper conduct."
