Thousands of participants are to take part in a Pink 5 or 10k run in aid of breast cancer awareness at Zayed Sports City on October 16th.
As part of the event, which is sponsored by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, ADCB, and Daman's Activelife, and organised by Gulf Multi Sport and the Abu Dhabi Striders, the iconic Zayed Sports City will be transformed with a pink-coloured theme, covering flags, shirts and merchandise, with all proceeds going to breast cancer awareness.
Steve Watson, Managing Partner of Gulf Multi Sport, said, "This is a very special race as we know how important the cause is for those taking part. Many of those running will have someone close to them who has been affected directly or indirectly by cancer."
For the third year, the run continues to inspire those who are raising money for friends or family who have been diagnosed with cancer or have been affected by it themselves. The race is open to individuals from all walks of life, and of all ages, sending the message that anyone can be affected by cancer.
Majdi Abdul Muhdi, Head of Corporate Communications at ADCB, said, "During the event this year, the ADCB Wellness-On-Wheels Mobile mammogram unit will be available offering free mammograms to the public to help encourage and support early breast cancer detection."
