Egyptian police forces confronted Zamalek fans to prevent them from attending an African Champions League game against Angola's Kabuscorp on Saturday. Authorities have imposed an indefinite crowd ban after the fan trouble which followed Ahly's 3-2 victory over Sfaxien in the African Super Cup last month. Zamalek objected to the ban, saying they had nothing to do with the troubles caused by the fans of arch-rivals Ahly, who ripped off seats and clashed with security forces following the match against Sfaxien. The White Knights supporters vowed to defy the crowd ban in the last 32 first-leg game against Kabuscorp but they were tear-gassed by police, who attempted to disperse them less than an hour before kick-off.
