Egypt’s giant club Zamalek crashed Orlando Pirates club of South Africa 4-1 in a Group B CAF Confederations Cup game at the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo on Sunday night.
Zamalek finished the group stage at the top of Group B.
Zamalek will play with Etoile Sahel of Tunisia, while the Pirates will face Group A winners Al-Ahly in the semi-finals.
Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Tawfik opened the scoring 14th minutes from the start, but Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa equalized in the 32nd minutes.
Five minutes after the interval, Zamalek striker Ahmed Hassan Mekky scored the second goal for Zamalek.
Zamalek substitute Moustafa Fathi increased his side's lead in the 62rd minute with his first touch, and dazzling attacking midfielder Mahmoud Kahraba capped his efforts with a goal on the breakaway five minutes later.
The White knights is the first Egyptian side to garner 15 points from six games in the group stage of any African competition.
