HE Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali has termed the achievement of Qatar's U-19 national football team as they won the Asian Cup as an historic event and a real accomplishment by Qatar football.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, who attended a hero's welcome reception for the team at Hamad International Airport on Saturday evening, said his attendance was a duty to honor the team on title achievement which comes as a result of proper long-term planning, began with the establishment of the Aspire Academy sponsored directly by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of His Highness the Emir.
He added that this continental title, which was achieved for the first time and came in the right time, is a translation of the national vision and the importance it attaches to young people to unleash their potential and fulfill dreams.
He stressed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports will do its utmost to provide the young people with what they need in order to ensure their contribution to the development of the country and raise its national flag high in all the forums.
Responding to a question from Qatar News Agency (QNA), he hoped for more achievements not only in football or sports, but in all areas, adding that Qatari youth is capable of realizing the key objectives of the national vision.
He praised the team spirit that led the team to win the continental title, stressing that this generation will be preserved through a clear strategy for achieving because 'they can achieve our aspiration in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar'.
