Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated in the media and pro athletes’ welcome reception for the "Challenge Bahrain" international triathlon championship.
Shaikh Nasser and the participants discussed the tournament’s regulatory actions taken by Bahrain to ensure the success of this important sporting event, as well as the outlook for competition.
Shaikh Nasser pointed out that the "Challenge Bahrain" event is one of the elite races in the world, and it is considered as the most powerful in all respects and that the number of quality of participants confirms the strength of the overall field.
He stressed the importance of the participation of a group of world champions along with the Bahraini team and youth which will contribute to the growth of interest in triathlon in Bahrain.
He stressed that the race will not be easy for everybody with the presence of this huge number of participants who are keen to achieve an advanced position. He highlighted that the Bahraini team will strive with all their strength to get a good result especially after a solid showing recently in Dubai, which confirmed the team’s standing at the global level.
Shaikh Nasser noted that the presence of the Bahraini team with world champions is a great asset, which will form the positive on the team’s career in upcoming competitions
He pointed out that the Bahraini team is well prepared to participate in the race and hope that the team achieves a good result culminating in the great efforts made for the participation.
He said that the team is ready to compete and he hoped that they show full confidence and determination.
For their part, the participants expressed their happiness to participate in the "Challenge Bahrain" championship, one of the outstanding competitions in the Middle East. They stressed at the same time the gracious hospitality and warm reception contribute to the success of this great sporting event.
