The UAE National Olympic Committee is participating in the Annual General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees, ANOC, which begins tomorrow in Doha, Qatar.
The UAE delegation is headed by Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Vice President of the UAE National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Executive Office, along with Mohammad Al Kamali, Secretary-General of the NOC, Dawoud Al Hajri, Assistant Secretary-General of the NOC, and Nasser Al Bedour, NOC Board Member.
The General Assembly features the participation of 1,200 members representing the Olympic Movement, International Federations, organising committees, and the cities hoping to host the 2024 Olympics.
A Congress will be assembled to update the National Olympic Committees about the reform process, enabling the National Olympic Committees to contribute significantly to shaping the future of ANOC. Organisers of the next Winter Olympics and the Summer Olympic Games will provide updates about the candidate cities to host the 2024 Olympics.
The ANOC General Assembly will honour the best achievers at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic games, including best male athlete, best female athlete, the best National Olympic Committee and the Most Inspiring Sports Figure.
