Tunisia won two quotas for the shooting tournament of the London 2012 Olympic Games thanks to the performance of Olfa Cherni who was awarded two gold medals at the 10th African Championships held in Cairo October 15-25. Egypt won in turn 11 gold medals, 12 silver and 8 bronze, ranking ahead of Tunisia (2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze) and South Africa (1 gold and 4 bronze). These championships were attended by 9 countries: Tunisia, Algeria, Angola, South Africa, Kenya, Namibia, Sudan, Senegal and host country Egypt.
