Under the patronage of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the 7th Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Camel Racing Festival kicked off yesterday at the Al Disa racetrack in Jordan's Wadi Rum area. Over 200 pure-bred and thorough-bred camels are taking part in these races.
The first day of the festival saw nine races while three more will be held tomorrow, the concluding day, followed by prize distribution ceremony. Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President and Chairman of the U.A.E. Camel Racing Association and senior Jordanian officials will grace the ceremony.
