Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa led the Bahrain Triathlon team in swimming training yesterday at the Khalifa Sports City pool in Isa Town.
The session was part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming "Challenge Bahrain" international triathlon championship, to be held on Saturday, December 6, organised by Challenge Family and Nasser bin Hamad Foundation.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said that the team continues its daily training programme according to the technical plan set for the team members, which aims to bring them to complete physical and mental readiness.
He noted that all the team members are in excellent form and are all determine to achieve high positions in the event. He praised the active participation of the team members and their dedication to the daily exercises, which confirm the status of the Bahraini team as serious participants in the upcoming triathlon.
On the other hand, a number of Bahraini team members confirmed their excitement to participate in "Challenge Bahrain" and their eagerness to achieve outstanding results.
Shaikh Mubarak bin Ali Al Khalifa, a member of the team, said that the daily workouts are going according to the plan laid down by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, and that the team may be brought to full readiness to participate in the event. Shaikh Mubarak bin Ali pointed out that his team members pledged to hold up the honour of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this global event.
Another team member, Spaniard Mikel Calahorra, pointed to the optimism of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad in their ability to reach an advanced position in the race, as well as the possibility of rising to the podium.
