Qatari swimmers displayed high skills in the prestigious 10th GCC Swimming Championships 2013 (Short Course) taking place at Al Rabi SC complex in Kuwait city. Qatar swimmers confidently won fifteen medals, including seven gold, seven silver and one bronze medal . Abdulrahman Khalid Al Kawari clinched two gold medals in 50 m freestyle and 50 m butterfly event ( 13-14 class). On the same track, Qatar’s Yagoub Abdulaziz Al Kholaifi earned two gold medals for Qatar in the 200 m individual and 100 m butterfly event, as his teammate Omar Hashem Omar siezed a gold medal in 100 m butterfly and silver medal in 50 m butterfly event ( 15- 17 class). Noah Abdulaziz Al Kholaifi made impressive performance to claim a gold medal in the 400 m individual and silver medal in 100 m backstroke ( 13-14 class). Likewise, Abdulrahman Hosham Talat claimed gold medal in backstroke and silver medal in 200 m, as his teammate Waleed Rafeeq Daloul clinched two medals in 800 m and 100 breaststroke ( 15-17) Curtains will come down on the prestigious championships on Monday amid a dazzling performance from Qatari swimmers who successfully earned 24 medals ( 12 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze.
