Qatar's national team were eliminated from the Gulf Cup after losing 1-0 to hosts Bahrain in the last game of the group stage on Friday. Fouzi Ayesh scored the only goal of the game from the spot 24 minutes into the game, handing the hosts their ticket to the semifinals to accompany the UAE, who managed the full mark after winning their third game today against Oman 2-0. The Maroon have 3 points in third, while Oman are fourth with one point. The group stage concludes tomorrow with two games in Group B, where Kuwait take on Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, who secured their place in the semifinals, play Yemen. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are level on points after both of them beat Yemen and lost to the Iraqi side, which tops the group with 6 points and looks likely to remain so, establishing a clash with the hosts in the semifinals.Source : QNA
