An upbeat senior Qatar team will play hosts Vietnam here today in the second-leg match of Asian Zone Qualifications for the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil. The visitors' 3-0 victory over Vietnam in the first-leg match at home brought the south east Asian team back to reality in Doha after the 13-1 drubbing they gave Macau. The Qatari outfit proved too good for Vietnam in front of home fans. Qatar's defender Mohamed Kasoula opened the scoring in the sixth minute before second-half goals from Meshal Mubarak (51st) and Kosoula's Al Sadd team-mate Yousef Ahmed (68th) gave Qatar their first win under recently appointed head coach Milovan Rajavec, following draws with Russia (1-1) and Neuchatel Xamax (2-2) and defeats to FC Lausanne (3-0), Bayern Munich (4-2) and India (2-1). The Qatari squad trained in Hanoi following their arrival here Tuesday.
