Secretary General of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Abdulrahman Sadaq Askar underscored the importance of committees' concerted efforts and hard work to host the 56th ICHPER.SD Anniversary World Congress and Exposition from December 18 to 20.
The international gathering will be organised by BOC, in cooperation with the University of Bahrain and International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance (ICHPER.SD).
This came as Askar headed the regular meeting of the Executive Committee, that includes Media Committee, Marketing Committee, the Committee of the Associated Events, Public Relations Committee, the Committee of Information Technology, Transportation Committee, Finance Committee, the Committee of Coordination and Follow-up, in the presence of ICHPER SD's President Dr. Adel Elnashar.
Askar was briefed about the preparations and reviewed the committees' requirements for the Congress.
He urged the committees to boost efforts during the short period that separates us from the Congress in order to arrange the optimal environment, which will reflect Bahrain's capability of organising successful sports events.
The main slogan of the congress is ‘Towards Building a New Sport System’, and will feature six workshops – women's sport, sport for all, partnership and marketing, fitness, the Olympic movement, science and sports performance.
Some of the congress objectives is to promote active lifestyle and how important it is related to personal, physical and mental health and also promote general physical activities in the Kingdom.
The congress is in compliance with the directives of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in an attempt to link science with sport.
