Festival
Manama - Arab Today

Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain National Stadium will host the closing festival of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Seventh Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 7) tonight (Monday).
The festival will include a wide range of activities, starting off with a match between football legends of GCC countries and Bahrain at 9:30pm, followed by Nasser 7 final match between Victorious and Al Nawayef teams at 10pm.
The championship’s executive committee earlier announced a package of prizes allocated for audience, which includes 77 prizes worth BD25, 000. Entrance is free for spectators in the first, second and main stands.
Demonstrating their eagerness to achieve the championship title for the second time in their history, both teams reached the final without losing a single match in the previous rounds in Nasser 7. The match is expected to be a tough and entertaining one, considering the high technical shown by both teams throughout the championship.
Nasser 3 Champions Victorious will play with a lineup of some of the best football talents in the kingdom, including Talal Yousif, Abdulla Al Maliky and Abdulla Al Araby. On the other side, Nassr 4 Champions Al Nawayef will also consist of skilled players such as Ahmed Rashid, Atiya Khalaf and one of the best local goalkeepers Dhafer Abdulrahman.
However, the match will determine the top scorer of Nasser 7, with Victorious and Al Nawayef players Abdulla Al Arabi and Ahmed Rashid holding a record of seven goals in the championship. International Referees to Manage the Final Match
As instructed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahraini refereeing crew, which participated recently in the 2014Fifa World Cup in Brazil will manage the final match of Nasser 7. The international crew consists of Bahraini referees Nawaf Shukralla, Yasser Tulifat and Ibrahim Sabt, who refereed important matches in the world cup including the games between Spain, Australia, Portugal and Ghana. They also participated in other international football events such as Fifa Youth World Cup finals in Turkey and Mexico, as well as the 2012 Clubs World Cup in Japan.
Great Prizes for Spectators
Nasser 7 Executive Committee announced that 77 lucky spectators will be awarded with prizes worth BD25, 000. The awards will include cash prizes varying between BD2500 and BD100, in addition to 50 inch LED televisions and 20 IPhone 5S smartphones. The prizes will be presented by the sponsoring companies, including Al Kharafi Global, Fast Link, Al Murjan Real Estate and Batelco.
Volunteer Work Pioneers Awarding Ceremony
The committee also said that HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed to award six of Bahrain’s prominent sports volunteer work leaders in the ceremony. Volunteers will include Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Abdullah Al Thawadi, Abdulwahab Al Assoomi, Abdulrahman Bu Jamal, Masood Al Mass and Mirza Ahmed.
Local and Regional Media Coverage
Both matches of the final day will be covered by Bahrain First and Second Sports Channels, in addition to the championship’s website on www.nasseralkhalifa.bh/nasser7 and Qatari sports channels Al Kaas and Al Dawry.
Within the functions that will be held on the final day of Nasser 7, former champions of GCC countries will play against a team formed of Bahrain’s former and current football legends before the final match at 9:30pm.
The GCC classic team will include veteran names from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates and Qatar such as Hussain Al Hadhary, Saeed Al Owairan, Emad Al Hosany, Fouad Anwar and more.
Bahrain team will consist of Mohammed bin Salmeen, Hussain Ali (Pele), Abdulla Al Marzooqi and many names that previously achieved several regional titles with Bahrain national team.
