The Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Honorary President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa honoured the winners of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Championship Endurance Race.
The ride was held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, in the presence of BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa and International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing (IFAHR) Chairman Lara Sawaya.
The Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Championship was held under the umbrella of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Sports Festival.
Bahraini rider Manal Fakhrawi claimed the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Championship Endurance Race title riding her horse Godasil Tehankorla from Al Khalidiya Stables. She completed the race in a total time of three hours and 14 minutes (3:14:00) with an average speed of 30kph.
Fakhrawi was followed by another Bahraini rider in Dana Al Benghadeer, who was riding her horse WH Picos Shazam from Victorious Stable. She completed the race in a total time of3:14:12 with an average speed of 30kph, while third place went to Oman’s Zamzam Hamed Hasani, riding her horse Leyhla Eclipse from Al Zaeem stable, completing the race in a total time of3:17:37 with an average speed of 32kph.
Anna Lena Weiershaeuser from Germany came fourth riding her horse Romance De Perros from Al Khalidiya Stables, completing the race in a total time of3:42:07 with an average speed of 24kph. French rider Alice Marie came fifth riding her horse Xeres De Saulvons completing the race in a total time of 03:42:17. Qatari rider Khulood Al Khoori riding her horse Edel from Victorious Stable completed the race in a total time of3:42:51.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the great success of the Fatima bint Mubarak Endurance Race, asserting that it is a result of the great efforts from all the participating riders in the race. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed his optimism about the bright future of endurance sport in the next races at the global level after the outstanding results achieved by the riders. He stressed that Bahrain is keen to ensure the success of this race to believe in the deep importance of developing the riders' performance at the international level and to highlight their talents.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated the Bahraini rider Manal Fakhrawi for achieving first place in this great event. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all members of the competition's committees, who were keen to follow the race from the beginning until the last stages. He confirmed that the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Championship witnessed great success, thanks to the strong and large participation by the riders who have made significant levels in the race.
On the other hand, Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa praised the strong and large participation by elite riders in the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Championship Endurance Race, stressing that the level provided by the riders came to confirm their capabilities in the sport of endurance on a global level and the importance of doing more efforts to develop the endurance sport in the world.
He praised the role of the follow-up and support of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for all stages of the race, stressing that this support has a great impact in encouraging the riders, which is reflected in its impact on their performance.
On her side, Lara Sawaya thanked Bahrain on the good organisation of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Championship, which came in the level of ambition due to direct attention by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his follow-up to all the measures to ensure the success of the race.
She announced that the top riders in the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Championship Endurance Race which was held in Bahrain will participate in the next World Endurance Championship which will be held in Verona, Italy, next September.
