Faisal Al-Mousawi conquered the waters of Similan Islands, located in the Andaman Sea just off the coast of southern Thailand, becoming the first Kuwaiti disabled diver to achieve such a feat.
In a statement late Friday, Al-Mousawi, also a member of the Science Club's Diving team, said that he was glad of his achievement in which he believes that it would a clear message that individuals with disablity could accomplish anything if they had a strong will.
From November 15 to 22, Al-Mousawi carried out 14 dives during his recent expedition.
Al-Mousawi gained several internally-approved diving licenses. He also went on several diving missions across Asia and the Middle East, and is considered one of the most accredited divers in Kuwait.
Among his other dives are Sipadan Island, in the Celebes Sea off the east coast of Malaysia, and the Indian Ocean just off the coast of the Maldives.
