Morocco's Wydad of Casablanca qualified for the semi-finals of the African Champions League, despite its defeat (3-1), on Friday, in the field of MC Alger in the final day of group stage (Group B). The Algerians, already eliminated, won the match through goals scored by Reda Babouch, and Oussaleh, while Ahmed Ajeddou narrowed the gap for the Reds in the 79th minute on a penalty. The second semi-final ticket was won by Esperance of Tunisia, which held Egypt’s Al-Ahly in check in Cairo (1-1 draw). After the final day of group stage, Tunisians ended the game head of the standings with a total of 10 points, three lengths ahead of Wydad and Al-Ahly. Wydad ranked second thanks to goal average. In the semi-finals, Wydad will confront the winner of Group A, while Esperance of Tunisia will play against the second of this group.
