Kuwaiti athletics team won two gold medals Friday night in the long jump and the 60 meters hurdles in Iran's Fajr International tournament. Secretary of Kuwait Athletics Federation Sayyar Al-Enezi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday that he was proud of the achievements of both Abdullah Al-Haddad and Abdulaziz Al-Mandeel who won the medals. Al-Haddad jumped a distance of 7,85 meters, while Al-Mandeel finished the hurdles race in 7,79 seconds, said the secretary, adding that the participation in the games in Iran is a step towards preparing the team for the Asian competitions in China on February 15. Al-Enezi hoped both players would continue working hard to achieve great results in the upcoming Asian event, noting that the Kuwaiti players are capable of competing in all international tournaments.
