Kuwaiti car racer Zaid Ashkanani of Sheikh Basel Al-Salem Al-Sabah Club is set to participate in the upcoming second round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge to be held in Bahrain on December 5.
Ashkanani told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that he was fully prepared to participate in the sixth season of the GT3 tournament alongside other racers from the GCC countries.
This is one of the biggest car race events held in the Middle East, he said, adding that the tournament is held annually at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The first season of the tournament was inaugurated and later based in Bahrain, said the racer. The Porsche Cup was later held in different ring roads in the region, attracting international professional car racers, he also added.
Ashkanani, the youngest participant in the tournament, had won the title last season.
Meanwhile, the racer thanked Zain telecommunications company for supporting him during the current 2014-2015 season.
