His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Tuesday, sent a letter to His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, president of Jordan Football Association (JFA), the FIFA vice president for Asia, as he announced his candidacy for the leadership of the International Federation of Football (FIFA).
Following is the full text of His Majesty's letter: In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Compassionate Your Royal Highness, my brother, Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you, It is with great pleasure that I extend to Your Highness my sincerest wishes for good health, joy and success. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my pride in you as a brother and a Hashemite Prince in the service of our country. You have always demonstrated diligence in assuming duties and responsibilities with utmost honesty and competence.
Throughout the years of your service, I have witnessed your commitment, hard work and dedication to improve the sport of football, serving as President of the Football Association in our beloved Jordan, and as FIFA Vice President representing all of Asia. Moreover, I have followed, with much admiration, your contributions towards the sport on the national level and across Asia and the world, which qualifies you to seek election as President of the Fédération Internationale de Football (FIFA), a very important post on the world stage.
I am confident in your abilities, my dearest brother, and that you will be up to this challenge and well capable of achieving the goals you seek in order to further develop FIFA and enhance the performance of this prestigious international organization.
I wish Your Highness success in your noble efforts.
