The Kuwaiti volleyball team, under-20, lost 0-3 against the Japanese team in its first match in the 17th Asian's Men Volleyball Championship on Friday.
"Losing for the Japanese team was expected," Team Manager Talal Jassim told KUNA after the match.
"The Kuwaiti team had only one week of training and preparing for the tournament and several key players did not show up because of personal excuses." Jassim laid it bare that the Kuwaiti team has set a goal to achieve in this tournament which is to enrich the experience of players.
The week-long competition is scheduled to take place from October 17 to 25 with participation of 20 countries.
