Under the auspices of of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa the First Deputy President of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and Chairman of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), the Kingdom of Bahrain hosts the Fifth GCC Men's and Ladies' Taekwondo and the First Poomse Championships in the period from October 29 to November 1.
On this occasion, the Bahrain Martial Arts (BMA)'s chairman engineer Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Khayyat has expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa the First Deputy President of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and Chairman of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) for his kind patronage of the Fifth GCC Men's and Ladies' Taekwondo and the First Poomse Championships which has had its greatest effect in enriching the championship and its success, praising His Highness's role in supporting all Bahraini sports in general and martial art in particular.
The High Committee held its first meeting chaired by Omar Abdulaziz Bu Kamal the Deputy Chairman for Administrative Affairs and Public Relations. The meeting decided on the Gym Hall at the Khalifa Sport City to host the championship and adding preliminary touches and essential for preparations ahead of the championship and for reception of GCC participating delegations, the opening and conclusive ceremonies, and all the necessary pre-arrangements to cover the championship on audi-visual media and also decided all the duties of the committees which assume their duties henceforth.
Teams from the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain will participate in the upcoming championship.
