Members of the Executive Office of Council of GCC Olympic Committees have named 2015 as the year for school sport with the aim of activating role of schools as a haven for young sport talents, Secretary General of Kuwait's NOC Obaid Al-Enezi said Monday.
Speaking to KUNA after chairing the two-day Executive Office meeting, Al-Enezi said participants approved a UAE recommendation to have a physical education class everyday in schools in all GCC countries.
The recommendation will be referred to the heads of National Olympic Committees (NOCs), he said.
They also agreed to hold the first junior games in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said Al-Enezi, as well as including the endurance horse race in the 2nd GCC games that would be held in the Saudi eastern city of Dammam next year.
