Fujairah has been selected as a destination along the route of the World Sky Race Cup 2016.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, yesterday attended the signing of agreement for organising the world hot-air balloon championship. The agreement was signed between the Government of Fujairah, represented by Salem Al Zahmi, Director of Fujairah Ruler's Office, and Don R Hartsell, Commissioner and Managing Director, World Air League.
Sheikh Mohammed said the selection of Fujairah as a destination on the route of the world race would give added leverage to the emirate of Fujairah and enhance its international standing.
'The World Sky Race will help introduce the world to Fujairah's history, culture and amazing nature,' he added.
Sky Race World Cup will be one of the most spectacular world championships and is expected to be the world's most coveted championship title in aeronautic sports. A field of elite sailplane pilots will battle in the skies over five continents.
