Racer Mohammad Al-Issa came first in the sand drag championship, the 8-cylinder category, that concluded here late on Saturday.
In remarks to KUNA, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah of Basel Al-Sabah Racing Club, said the Kuwaiti racer, Barrak Al-Najjar, came second in the same contest, followed by Mohammad Al-Zaid. In the 6-C contest, Yaacoub Al-Madahka was crowned the champion of this competition, followed by Meshari Al-Mifreh and then Salem Al-Hajeri.
Al-Issa also won the open round, followed by Abdulrahman Bourahma while Ahmad Safar came third.
The race, organized by Basel club, involved more than 110 racers and drew a large number of spectators and fans.
In the four-wheel category, Sheikh Mohammad said Mohammad Al-Obaid won the stroke-2 competition. He was followed by Rashed Ali and Khaled Al-Mutairi. In stroke-4, Abdullah Al-Bloushi emerged the top champion, while second came Thamer Al-Sagaabi, followed by Mohammad Al-Jeri.
In UTV, Mohammad Al-Obaid ranked first, Abdulaziz Al-Bechir came second and Mohammad Al-Eid third.
The racing competitions were held on a 91-meter-long track in Bnaider, in South Kuwait. The racers had to brave and maneuver through various sand and water barricades.
The championship was the first of its kind to be organized in Kuwait. The second round will be held early next month, amid anticipations number of participating racers will be high.
