Football’s governing body FIFA has given the green light to Franco-Algerian player Yacine Brahimi to join the Algerian national side. Brahimi, who currently plays for Spanish club Granada, is the third newly qualified Algerian player this year, joining Isaac Blfodal and Fawzi Ghulam. The 23-year-old Algerian dual-national played for a host of smaller French teams before joining Granada, although he is still under contract with French side Ran until summer next year. FIFA’s law on dual nationality players, signed off at a organisational summit in June 2009, has already bolstered Algeria’s squad, with new call-ups Khsan Yebda, Mourad Meghni and Riad Boudebouz.
