International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) announced on Monday His Royal Highness Prince Ali as a candidate for FIFA's presidential elections scheduled for May 29.
FIFA's electoral commission indicated that it received four applications from four nominees for the post of the organization’s president.
The commission said the four candidates included the incumbent FIFA president, Joseph Blatter, Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, head of the Dutch football union Michael van Praag, and also Luis Figo.
The electoral commission will meet again to look into whether the applications conformed to the FIFA rules of procedure.
The election procedure will take place at the FIFA Congress in Zurich, Switzerland, on May 29.
