Nasser Bin Hamad Foundation NBHF successfully concluded its first Duathlon race at Bahrain International Circuit today, with more than 190 participants, including the event’s patron Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport SCYS and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and First Deputy Chairman of SCYS and Bahrain Athletic Association Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The race started from BIC at 7:30 am, including three stages as followed in international Duathlon races. Contenders were divided among groups according to their age categories. They started off with a 10 kilometers run then cycled for 40 km and finally competed in a 5 km running race. Winners of each category were awarded by Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid. SCYS Chairman praised NBHF and the organising committee for introducing a successful event and contributing in spreading sports culture among the community. He remarked "the overwhelming response from locals and residents contributed in the success of the race, which is an important sport event to prepare for the upcoming contests of the season. On his part, Shaikh Khalid stated that the race was on high technical and organising levels, he also appreciated the efforts paid by NBHF and all related parties for organising such a successful event. Participants and members of the organising committee hailed Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his contributions and support to the various sport activities in Bahrain, reflecting positively on the success of the events.
