Algerian men's national tennis team has achieved two victories against Mozambique and Botswana, after two days at Davis Cup tournament, group III Africa (pool B), taking place at the Tennis Academy of Cairo, Egypt, with the participation of Namibia and Benin.
The teammates of Mohamed Nazim Makhlouf beat Wednesday Mozambique 3-0 (two wins in a simple event and one in a double).
On Tuesday they won against Botswana, with the same score (3-0).
Algeria beat Mozambique in simple events, by Mohamed Nazim Makhlouf against Franco Mata (6-3, 7-6) and Mohamed Hassan against Ataide Mussagy Suca (6-1, 6-3), and in a double event by duet Hichem Yasri-Mohamed Amine Kerroum against Feliciano Dos Santos and Guilande-Jossefa Elias (6-1, 6-1).
On Tuesday, the tournament's first day, the Algerian team defeated Botswana 3-0.
Mohamed Nazim Makhlouf was the first Algerian to snatch a victory in the tournament, by winning over Shingirai Muzondiwa (6-3, 6-2) in a simple event.
Mohamed Hassan, later, won at a simple against Phenyo Matong (6-2, 6-3).
In a double evcent, Duet Mohamed Amine Kherroum and Mohamed Hassan won against Lame Botshoma and Thabiso Mabaka (6-1,7-5) .
Algeria will play Benin on Thursday and Namibia on Friday.
