Bahrain National Handball team has today won the bronze medal defeating Iran 28/25 in the third place playoff as part of the 17th Asian Games.
This is the first time ever Bahrain wins a medal in a collective sport in the history of its participations in the Asian Games. Meanwhile, Qatar clinched the gold medal in the handball final, after defeating host team South Korea 24/21.
Top scorer Mahmoud Abdulqader netted 10 goals while teammates sealed the final victory for Bahrain – Jaafar Abdulqader (4 goals), Mahdi Madan (4 goals), Sadiq Ali (4 goals), Hussain Al-Sayyad (2 goals), Mohammed Al-Maqabi (2 goals), Hussain Ali ( 1 goal) and Mohammed Mirza (1 goal).
